How to never lose your fleet (I really mean it, no bugs either)

Overview

Let’s say that you fleetsave perfectly and are always online before it gets back, everything is going great, but then one day you login and find someone has timed an attack seconds after your fleet returns. Under normal circumstances timed attacks are very difficult to avoid.

This tactic allows you to escape from any type of attack as long as you have at least 2 Jumpgated Moons.

Here is what you need for this:

1. A stopwatch or other tangible time keeping device that you can look at. (The in-game clock will not work as you cannot see it from the Jumpgate screen)

2. To be online a few minutes before the hit, the more time the better.

3. At least 2 Moons connected by Jumpgates.

4. One of every of ship type on your moon.

Example:
Let’s say the following ships made up your fleet:

* 10 small cargoes
* 10 large cargoes
* 200 light fighters
* 100 heavy fighters
* 20 cruisers
* 20 battleships
* 50 destroyers

On your gated moon you will need:

* 1 small cargo
* 1 large cargo
* 1 light fighter
* 1 heavy fighter
* 1 cruiser
* 1 battleship
* 1 destroyer

The only exception to leaving 1 of everything on your moon would be deathstars. Unless your moon has a huge defence the deathstar in itself would become a profitable target.

If you have the above four things then you are ready to escape. Here’s how:

1. Go into your fleet overview and look at the exact time your fleet returns.

2. Synchronise your stopwatch with the fleet return time so that it counts down the seconds until your fleet returns. When the stopwatch hits zero, you’ll know your fleet is back.

3. Enter the Jumpgate screen by clicking Buildings and then Jumpgate.

4. Now this is why you needed one of every ship on your moon.

Without the ships, your jumpgate would simply say “no ships to jump”. But with the ships, you now have a list of ships you can jump, that is, 1 small cargo, 1 large cargo, etc. The important thing is that you have an input box next to each ship type.

Now PAY ATTENTION. Although your fleet hasn’t returned yet, you want to enter the total number of all your ships in the returning fleet, plus the ones on your moon.

So using the example above, you would enter:

* 11 small cargoes
* 11 large cargoes
* 201 light fighters
* 101 heavy fighters
* 20 cruisers
* 21 battleships
* 51 destroyers

DON’T CLICK THE JUMP BUTTON JUST YET!!! Just enter the numbers.

5. When your stopwatch reaches zero, you know your full fleet is back at your moon. At this point you click the ‘Jump’ button. Ogame will process it just as normal and your entire fleet will be jumped to safety seconds before the attacker arrives. Voila! Your fleet lives.

Additional Notes:-

This tactic is a bit risky if the mission of your returning fleet is Deployment. There are those who argue that deployments take a couple of seconds longer to register as fully landed. If you feel safe in doing it and there are a few seconds between your fleet returning and the attacking fleet as there should be, pause for a brief moment before hitting ‘Jump’, but be careful.

Be aware any resources that you had been carrying on the fleet will be lost as you can’t gate those, but you will save your ships.

This is an advanced tactic that is known to work, and with careful timing it is usable even when there are as few as 1-2 seconds left. The Game Operators have confirmed that this is not bug-using, you will not get banned for using this technique.
